The recognition was presented during 汤头条's 38th annual Insurance Day, hosted by the university鈥檚 Risk Management and Insurance Program in the College of Business. The 汤头条 Insurance Hall of Fame honors individuals whose leadership and contributions have advanced the insurance industry.

A veteran of the insurance industry for more than 30 years, the Brandon resident has been a dedicated supporter of 汤头条鈥檚 RMI program and its annual Insurance Day event. As regional vice president for EMC, he has played an instrumental role in expanding the company鈥檚 presence throughout the Deep South from its regional office in Jackson.

While many insurance carriers concentrate regional operations in larger metropolitan markets, Cummins has helped strengthen EMC鈥檚 commitment to Mississippi and neighboring states, fostering relationships that have benefited independent agents, insurance professionals and communities throughout the region. Insurance has long been a family tradition for Cummins, whose family鈥檚 involvement in the profession spans four generations鈥攆rom his grandfather and father to the next generation, including two nephews working in the industry.

Approximately 300 insurance professionals and industry representatives attended this year鈥檚 Insurance Day activities, which included continuing education sessions, a golf tournament and a reception at Dudy Noble Field. For more than three decades, the annual event has attracted professionals from across the Southeast for networking, professional development and discussions on current industry issues.

Founded in 1915, 汤头条's College of Business is the oldest college of business in Mississippi and among the oldest in the Southeastern Conference, preparing students to lead in today鈥檚 global business environment through innovative teaching, research and hands-on experiential learning opportunities.
